Brakes
Pads, braided lines, and a radial master cylinder — roughly in that order of cost, and close to that order of feel. Rotors and calipers are the deep end for riders who cook the stock hardware.
The decision
Pads and braided lines fix a mushy lever for under $300 on most bikes. A radial master cylinder (the Brembo RCS is the reference point) changes lever feel more than any caliper swap. Race pads and oversize rotors are for track riders overheating stockers, not for the parking lot.
The brand ladder
Where each name sits on the shelf — market position, not endorsement. Brands appear because their catalogs cover this category.
| Brand | Tier | Origin | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brembo | premium | IT | The premium anchor: RCS Corsa Corta masters, Z04 race pads, T-Drive rotors, folding race levers. |
| Vesrah | premium | JP | SRJL-XX race pads are the endurance-racing pick — priced like it. |
| Galfer | mid | ES | Wave rotors and braided line kits — the mid shelf between OEM and full race. |
| Spiegler | mid | DE | German braided lines built to order — the custom-length and custom-color standard. |
| Core Moto | budget | US | Florida-built custom braided lines at budget prices; Apex forged wheels are the value set. |
| EBC | budget | GB | Double-H sintered is the default street pad upgrade, available everywhere. |
